Default Preview Event Arena pics - prelimenary thoughts?

Looks nice, I was expecting rather dull desert maps like the elona arena but these look damn nice... thoughts?

Also, these maps are a decent indication towards the kind of terrain we'll see in nightfall so...!

I want a nice arabian city map as opposed to maps that look suspiciously similiar to the wilds but hey.. good gameplay is good gameplay I guess.. ^_^

Presearing and Kryta are the first to come to my mind when viewing those SS's. It's still to early to tell how the enivironment will play out. I'm hoping for divserse landscapes in the essence of Tyria, not more of the same like Cantha.

Way to tease us! They remind me of a place in WoW, the name escapes me, but it's a high level area you get to by taking the Zepplin from Orgrimmar.

Looks great!

Ferns... you gotta have some ferns to remind you of NZ^^ and... other countries like Russia that this could apply to.

Oh that tree in the second picture, the one that looks like string, those are awesome looking trees, honestly^^

Looks very good. I'm expecting at least four diverse environments, too, similar to what was in cantha (i posted the reasoning in another thread, maybe I'll paste it here later). Considering they plan to add 4 new arenas, that just might be the right number.

But I'd have to disagree that Factions didn't have nice environments. The parts of Kaineng that weren't slums looked damn great, and the jade sea is maybe the coolest game environment EVER, imo; damn great conception and execution there.

Yeah it kinda sucked when you got off the island and came to an area that looked like a hurricane went through it.

Agreed. Factions in my opinion had some of the greatest Art Direction ever seen in a game, it was just damn incredible and awe-inspiring.

I think you're talking about Strangethorn Vale for the second screen, which I admit, looks really similar in terms of environment....................................... ... it's not like I play WOW or anything, though................ *shifty eyes*
